Below are answers to some commonly asked questions. Feel free to email us if you cannot find the answer you are seeking and we will add your question to the list!
1. What is your address?
The address and directions are given at the time of sign up. This helps us to avoid visitors randomly showing up unannounced.
2. Can I bring apples and carrots for the animals?
We prefer that you only feed the animals the alfalfa and timothy pellets we have here at the barn. We also have brown rice cakes as a special treat. This is less sugary than apples and carrots and the animals remain better behaved when fed these treats as opposed to their equivalent of "ice cream" yummies.
3. May I bring something to donate?
Yes! We welcome bags of brown rice cakes as a donation for other guests to feed. So please feel free to bring a bag or two to put in our metal tubs if you would like.
4. Does my child need long pants and boots to ride the ponies?
No. We use surcingles in place of saddles for the little ones as it provides something that they can hold on to with their hands. The pad under the surcingle is not rough on their legs. Boots are not necessary either, just closed toed shoes.
5. Do I bring my own helmet or other gear?
No. It's not necessary as we provide everything you need. However, any personal horse attire you have you may bring to use as well.
What is the temperature at the barn?
It can get pretty hot during the summer and cool during the winter. Generally speaking, on a warm day it is 10 degrees hotter at our barn than at the coast and 10 degrees cooler on a cold day, so plan ahead with sunscreen, hats and/or jackets. It can also get very windy, in which case we will reschedule your visit.
6. Do you have water and a restroom?
Yes. We have filtered water and cups. The restroom is located down the first set of stairs on the driveway. We will show you where it is upon your arrival.
7. Can I bring a friend last minute to my pony ride?
Yes. You may bring extra guests to share your pony ride time, but please pay the extra cost when you arrive. (Note: please remember to ask your new guest to go online and complete the waivers before coming too).
8. If I have visited before, do I have to fill out the waivers again?
No. Once is enough. Thank you!
9. May I stay past my allotted time?
Generally, guests tend to feel complete by the time they leave, but if you wish to stay a little longer, you can bring a snack or just walk down to the trampoline area to hang out longer since there might possibly be another guest scheduled to visit right after you.
